  1. Math and I

I could not imagine the world without mathematics. It might be a very old tool, but it is still very useful. We could not have gone this far without these numbers and stuff. Almost everything around us can be associated with numbers.
For me, Math is a very important subject. That is why I did not choose to leave this behind. I chose to study it very well because I know that this will be a powerful tool in the future world. It is also a key subject to my preferred course in college which is an engineering course. It does not require a brilliant mind to get the lessons. All it needs is practice, practice, and more practice. Sometimes, it also depends on the teaching capability of the teacher. If you get the lesson, you would feel really good. That is why I love math. It really feels rewarding.
One reason I don’t find math hard is because it is usually repetitive. The teacher may just change the given, but it is the same process overall. I really don’t get why people despise this subject. Math isn’t really that hard. Some problems in Math may get pretty lengthy, but it isn’t that difficult. One of the things that would be an obstacle for you in this subject is your carelessness. One wrong number and you might get the whole answer wrong. This was always my case. I know what to do but I get careless sometimes. It might be because of my complacency. You really have to focus on what you are doing.
Math has also taught me things about life, particularly algebra and proving. One thing that it taught me is that we have to think logically to make problems easier to answer. In life, if we are weak in making “diskarte”, we would not be able to live easier. What we will do is that we’ll live by doing things that are quite complicated, without making it simpler.

The language of math is numbers. If we are well versed in this language of numbers, it can help us make important decisions and per form every day tasks.

Math is about slving problems.Patience is required because it requires attention to all details. All math problems that were discussed and assigned to us use many of the detailed methods of problem solving. For example, in order to solve algebraic equations, you should use addition, subtraction, multipication, and division.

Everyone of us uses math whether they realized it or not. When I shop I uses math to calculate change, when I cook i use math to modify the amount a recipe will make. And when we go out of town or country we use math to find time of arrivals and departures to plan our trips. We students uses math or determine the costh of materials when doing projects.

  3. I have never seen patience and perseverance in a more different way than with math. Mathematics has taught me how to take my time in doing things, getting the values of x is no joke, because your grade relies on your every decision. One wrong calculation and the rest could go down like glaciers during summer. I still remember that feeling I got when I realized a lesson that seemed so hard to me, now every time I solve my equations, I always get that tingly feeling of successfully answering the problems. Math has taught me how to enjoy the little things in life. Passing that one homework? Yes it’s only 10% of your grade, but to see those red checks across your paper is just the happiest sight any student can see. Some people say, even me, ‘where will we need these algorithms?’ Well, it’s not the formulas themselves, but the life lessons they bring. Teamwork, perseverance, patience, wisdom, knowledge, hope, faith and trust.

Mathematics has always been a subject in school I really enjoyed even when it was hard. It is my favorite because I never have difficulty with it and always get good marks in tests.
My earliest memories of math are my second grade in elementary. Prior to this age, the memories of math I have are flashcards, and these tests my parents would make up for me to take while at home. It felt very rewarding every time I solved a problem correctly. From that day forward I have permanently put in my mind that math was easy. As time passed by my curiosity and desire to excel at new things have helped me develop a new love for math.
I was first introduce to algebra during my sixth grade because of the enrichment classes that our school gave us. I remember hearing rumors from the freshmen about the difficulties of algebra. Little did I know, I would love algebra in the future. A great part of the reason why I love algebra is because math is like a puzzle. For me, puzzles are exciting and challenging at the same time and I am a student who never turns her back on challenges. This is when I started believing that math is not just about finding the correct answer, but also the process of discovering.
While entering high school, math changed drastically. The high school math consisted of new terms, new formulas and new numbers that I have never seen before. It was overwhelming at first, but I was fortunate enough to have amazing teachers to guide me through them. As I continue my studies I have learned how every concept requires special attention and focus.
The wonderful thing about Mathematics is that, besides some formula, there is nothing else to remember. Every step in solving a problem is done logically. Other subjects such as History and Geography require a lot of memory work. Remembering dates and other facts is hard work compared with the ease and simplicity of mathematical reasoning.
To me, the skills you learn from Mathematics are very useful in your every day life. It is a study that shows you step-by-step methods to solve any mathematical equation. To understand math, not only do you need to know how to solve the problem step-by- step, but you also need to understand the reasons why you are solving it the way you are. Mathematics teaches us how we can come up with a solution to every problem. The only true thing I ever picked up from my math teachers was the enthusiasm to learn and the enthusiasm in “getting it”.

    Math Project for Second Quarter

Whenever someone mentions the subject "Math", people usually react in a violent manner. A lot of students see it as the most difficult subject in school. Although I do agree. Math is quite difficult. It's not easy to learn one Math topic to another. Although for some professionals, it would just be a piece of cake. But these kinds of people are rare. Not everyone can appreciate Math the way they do.

In my opinion, Math is a vast subject. Like I've said, it's not easy to learn one topic to another. But if you try to understand it, it's actually very simple. Some solutions may be long, and some are very simple. Some topics need a bucket-load of formulas to memorize, and some only need a simple solution. Math, I believe, is complicated. Topics go from easy to difficult and back to becoming easy. It's like a cycle that never ends. But if you give enough effort to try and understand the lesson, no doubt that you'll get it in no time.

I honestly believe that Math and I have quite a complicated relationship. I love Math, and I try to understand it in any way I can. There are times when I just get it, and there are times when it's just too confusing. But when I give effort and time to listen to the lessons, we'll get along fine in the end. That's how I see Math :)

  7. Math and I

When I experience difficulty in solving Math problems, I tend to complain and wonder about the use of Math in my life. Come to think of it, I realized that in life, there are lots of applications of Mathematical principles.
In the morning, when I hear my alarm clock, I estimate how much time do I have to sleep a little longer. When I take a shower, I can think how much gallon of water do I consume and how many liters there are in the gallons of water that I consume. As I shampoo my hair, I think about how many times can I wash my hair with a 200ml bottle of shampoo and how long will my bar of soap last. At breakfast time, I have to watch my calorie intake because I’m watching my weight. On my way to school, I would watch the speedometer of our car and know the distance from our house to school and find out how much time does it take for me to travel.
With all these preparations before coming to school, I have set my mood to attend my math class. I pay attention and do my best to understand the lessons that my teacher gives us and try to solve the problems as much as I can.
I think Mathematical skills are needed in other subjects, most especially in Science, TLE and even Music. Of course, I should know how to average my scores in all my subjects so I’ll be aware of how my grades are.
When I get home, I do my homework in Math. As I encounter difficult problems, I begin to ponder about the importance of Math in my life. I don’t even plan to take up engineering or other courses that require higher Mathematics. But I have to get a high grade in this subject. What then should I do to overcome this weakness in Math? Sometimes, I sleep really late because of it and cry over it but I need to be more persevering in order to at least reach my expectations if not to surpass it. Perhaps, I should begin to like it, and eventually enjoy it, and treat it like a game. I realized that my mind is exercised to solve difficult problems so that when I grow older, I will able to solve difficult problems in life.

    MATH AND I
Throughout the high school years, every student has their own opinions about the subjects they like and dislike. This does not mean the literal meaning. It means that it is about their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to academics. These opinions often change throughout the time. There are certain standards in every individual in order to succeed this kind of high school life.
“Mathematics is an essential part of every high school student’s education.” This quote says it all. It explains the subject Math in eleven words. Every student learns certain lessons in math that will carry with them through life. Each of these are building blocks to help shape who we become. As a math student, I feel math has taught me not only about addition, subtraction, division... But it has taught me thinking skills and problem solving that will take me further than just math class. There are times in which you have to decide which path you will take after high school, although every path is different and you will take the skills in which you have learned in math class to a different level. When I was young, I used to say “I hate math”, although this sentence did not last long. As I was growing up, I slowly understood what math really meant and how we can apply it in real life situations. I used to say that this has nothing to do with shopping or dancing and such and that I won’t need this in the future. For my other batchmates, these are hard, most especially when you are surrounded by your best friends. Concentration is obviously needed when it comes to this matter. The dedication that this class requires teaches every student concentration. The concentration on this one course will help high school students pursue their dreams while taking other courses to achieve this. Another major influence on a high school student’s math education is the teacher. A teacher is crucial to a student’s success. The ideal teacher knows several ways to explain a certain concept. Doc Ed is an example of an ideal teacher.
Soon enough, I know that I will become successful because of math. I know that this will be a big help in my future. I just have to focus at this moment and I can’t be distracted by the things that will destroy my future.

    Math and I

Mathematics is a very complicated subject which is used in our daily lives. We may not appreciate it for our entire life in school, but we need it throughout our lives.

I can say that my relationship with mathematics is a little complicated. Maybe that's because it usually gives me a hard time in solving it's problems. I get confused whenever a lot of numbers are included in an equation. It's also difficult to solve, because, in this subject, being careless is not an option. One wrong move results to a wrong answer. Although, we use it in what we do.

While growing up, I learned that Math is not all about numbers alone. It also teaches us values that we may not learn in other subjects. It also helps in the inventions that people make that keeps us comfortable.

This important knowledge that is being passed down by our ancestors is a very useful and important matter. Therefore I say, knowing Math is fundamental in human life.

  10. Math and I

Math, the science of numbers and their operations, interrelations, combinations, generalizations, and abstractions and of space configurations and their structure, measurement, transformations, and generalizations. It is not just numbers, equations , problems , drawings , and pictures. It’s about solving, understanding and comprehending each question or problem.

Something we have known for a lifetime , Math. It has been taught to us since kindergarten and one of the most important subject we have to learn. We use it every day without you even noticing it. Math and I we’re in a up and down relationship. Sometimes I get the lesson sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I pass a quiz sometimes I don’t. I haven’t struggled in math when I was in grade school. It just started when was In High school. I didn’t get to be an achiever ever since second year because my grades we’re often 83 or 84. But this year I’m aiming to get a higher grade to be an achiever. My teachers really help me in math. Miss Julie on my first year, Sir Chris for my second and third year, and finally Doc Ed for my fourth and last year in high school. They we’re all great. They all made sure that we would understand each lesson. Doc Ed Teaches a little faster than the others but I can still understand each lesson he teaches. He has a way of making hard lessons easy and easy lessons look hard. I guess that’s what distinguishes him from other teachers of my school. My grade in math for the first quarter was 85. I felt ok with my grade but I wanted a higher one. I am aiming for a higher one this quarter and the other quarters to come.

It is said to be the universal language and let's face it you can't do much of anything in your everyday life without it. Just think of all the ways we use math cooking, shopping, building, and even knowing when to leave your house to get somewhere on time. Math is not just a subject it is also a language.

  11. Math and I
How can I describe my relationship with Math? Well as far as I know, I have this Love and Hate relationship towards this subject. High School is where you’ll find out if you really can catch up to that Subject or not because indeed, it’s a stepping stone to your future. I’ve been trying to make it up for math for the last 3 years of High School. To be honest, I wasn’t that serious especially to this subject when I was in 1st yr and 2nd yr. When I think of math before, I’ve hated that subject because I don’t know how I can apply the lessons because basically I wasn’t participating before nor listening, I’ve kept the other ear open while the other was close. I’ve been thinking what was the reason of my hatred towards this subject even though I’m utterly wasn’t giving my time to really just appreciate the fact that I will absolutely need this in College. I have this Professor named Doc Ed Orata who has been my Math teacher for 3 years now. I saw his dedication teaching us this subject on how we can also apply this in our lives. And yes, he has shared his favourite line to us “If you love Math, Math will love you back. If you hate Math, Math will hate you forever.” With that line, I keep on saying to myself that I should really love this subject but that’s the downfall of it, there are just simple words with no actions supporting it. When I’ve found out that I should really do something about the fact that it’s time for me to cope up with the grades that I’d like to have in the major subjects. I’ve encouraged myself that it’s time to show my capabilities, no more hiding and just appreciate what I really have in me. So when it was my 3rd year with Math in High School, I’ve been participating and not letting my time be wasted with an unproductive thing to do. Finally, I’m overcoming my laziness to do better with this subject because I keep on trying to achieve the goals that I’d like to reach. My understanding with Math expanded throughout that year because I’ve given my efforts to get out of the box. However, Doc Ed wasn’t my Math teacher last year but maybe that was a challenge that I must face. But this year, he has handled me again with his favourite subject, Mathematics. I was thankful that my last year in my alma mater he’ll be the last Math teacher who will handle me. And then I’ve realized that no one can really compete with Doc Ed’s way of teaching. In other words, He’s truly extraordinary in his own ways. He was one of my inspirations to do better with my academics and to not be afraid to show what my capabilities is all about. I’ve also found out that I’m enjoying the Math more than last year because I like numbers more than figures. With the help of Doc Ed’s proficiency in Math leading us to the way where we can help ourselves in College. Therefore, I must conclude that Math has a huge impact on us that we must grasp in order to have a successful mathematical knowledge and application in our lives.

  12. Math and I

In my elementary life, I hated math. I had a hard time understanding it's lessons and the purpose itself. I had no interest and showed no effort in answering. Until I understood one lesson. Soon enough, I began taking interest and showing improvement. I appreciated math and had discovered it's purpose. Math isn't just a subject about numbers, it is also about life. It shows that life is like a puzzle, every variable is important or else accomplishment would be impossible. It all depends on how we look at it. The more I took interest, the more I got better in math. I got brighter and sharper, but not only my intelligence was formed, but also my personality. Math made me who I am today. It taught me to analyze my problems and solve it with what is given. Understanding math's purpose, made me understand my purpose. Looking back at the past, I couldn't imagine that a student who hated math would be aiming to be an architect. Understanding that one lesson made me take interest and realize that everything is related to math. Now that I fell in love with it, I could get away from it. Math isn't just a subject about numbers it's about dealing with life's problems in a different angle and our personality in analyzing it. Everything in our everyday life is related to math, it all depends on how we see and appreciate it.
